The Ontario Ministry of Health (has today) confirmed (Monday) its support and approval for Arnprior Regional Health to proceed with the implementation project for a Computerized Tomography (CT) Scanner.
The rubber stamp is all Queen’s Park does.
ARH will put out a request for proposals in an effort to attract bidders on the job, as the efforts will improve local diagnostic imaging- averting trips to RVH or Queensway Carleton in the process; saving out-of-town travel for about 3000 patients a year, as recommended either by the hospital or their family doctor.
The estimated total cost of the CT Scan Project is $1,800,000, which will be 100 percent funded through the launch of a community fundraising campaign.
The new amenity will also help with physician recruitment.
ARH will repurpose existing space to accommodate the new CT scanner.
Following the contract being awarded, the estimated project timeline is approximately 18 months until completion.
