A new documentary featuring the Ottawa Valley will hit the big screen this weekend. Tys Burger and Josh Murphy are co-directors of the film called Heart of the Valley. Burger says they premiered last summer at the Pembroke Amphitheater and have been working on the final cut over the last year.
The Heart of the Valley documentary was filmed in the summer of 2020, shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Murphy says they wanted to capture stories from local residents to capture life in the valley.
The pair are also working on several other projects. Filming is almost complete on a second movie with three other projects in the works.
The movie will be shown at the at the O’Brien Theater in Renfrew on Sunday July 31st starting at 4:30pm. Tickets are $15 and available online or in-person with cash sales.
