Amy Thom was raised on a dairy farm near Blakeney, but initially chose a couple of different career paths before returning to her agricultural comfort zone. She went back to dairy, met her future spouse- and then attended Alberta’s Lakeland College in the Dairy Sciences program while still dating her partner-to-be. The couple came back to Ontario about six years ago and are now married with three young ones. The pair will take over on her husband’s dairy farm when the in-laws retire. Amy can’t be sure of the kids interests as yet- although she’s hopeful. Her son is the oldest child, and is fascinated with the equipment business his parents run on the side.
