Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) has imposed a burn ban throughout the City, and all open air fires are prohibited as of Tuesday, June 8th.
Campfires and outdoor wood burning fireplace fires are not allowed.
West Ottawa residents should note the open air fire ban applies to agricultural and brush pile burns.
OFS says the current hot and dry conditions have increased risk of fire spread and could put firefighters in danger.
Devices that don’t need a permit such as propane, ethanol, and natural gas outdoor fireplaces and barbecues are not subject to the ban.
