Consummate Volunteer Debbie Hudson was born and raised in nearby White Lake, but has lived in Arnprior for her full married life- which, to this point is 43 years.
Debbie retired in her mid-fifties, but this was no case of “Freedom 55”, as Debbie immediately sought out community involvement.
The first five year’s of Debbie’s volunteer efforts primarily focussed around assisting in the library at A.J. Charbonneau Public School- after all, Debbie loved kids, and she loved books.
She discovered a more diverse volunteer experience with her efforts at Neighbourlink Fountain- a drop-in centre that welcomes those of all demographics.
At Neighbourlink, listening skills come naturally and many of its patrons just want someone to share their stories with.
But Debbie Hudson is more than a sympathetic ear- she’s also rolled up her sleeves and served as a Neighbourlink representative on the Town of Arnprior’s Anti-Poverty committee, from which she believes will come positive results.
