Staff at the County of Renfrew are looking at the possibility of introducing a ride sharing program. Director of Development and Property, Craig Kelly, says RideShark would act as a portal for people looking to match themselves with others who are travelling.
Kelly says they hope to roll this ride sharing service out in the new year.
Kelly says the county has received a $17,000 grant to help get seniors moving and will be using the money to help implement the service, however it won’t just be seniors who can use RideShark.
Kelly adds those looking to use the service would find someone travelling the same direction and work out their own terms on how to be compensated.
