One of Canada’s best-known university hockey rivalries is coming to the Ottawa Valley, giving local fans a chance to catch the action without travelling to Ottawa.
The Carleton Ravens and uOttawa Gee-Gees will bring their annual men’s and women’s hockey matchups to Renfrew and Alexandria on Sunday, November 29, as part of the inaugural Rivalry Roadtrip.
The men’s game gets underway at 1 p.m. at Renfrew’s myFM Centre, followed by the women’s matchup at 5 p.m. at the Billy Gebbie Arena in Alexandria.
Both games will be followed by autograph sessions, giving fans a chance to meet players from the Ravens and Gee-Gees in person.
Tickets are available online.
Local minor hockey teams can also turn the event into a fundraiser, earning $2 for every ticket they sell. There’s an added incentive for participating teams: the group that sells the most tickets will win an exclusive experience at a Ravens or Gee-Gees varsity home game, including a pizza party and a commemorative Rivalry Roadtrip puck for every player.
Renfrew-area teams can register through Carleton Athletics by emailing tickets@carleton.ca.
