TODAY: The Renfrew County Community Poverty Action Network brings it’s Operation Snowsuit project to the Renfrew Legion from 4:30 to 7:30 pm this Thursday, October 22! New and gently used snowsuits are given away to families facing financial hardship so that young people and safely and enjoyably participate in winter activities.
TODAY: The Almonte Civitan hosts An Evening with Charlie Angus – The Resistance Tour this Thursday starting at 6:00 pm. Angus, a former MP, author, musician and activist, brings his his cross-country Resistance Tour to the Valley for a conversation about affordability, economic uncertainty, and shaping Canada’s future. Tickets available online.
TODAY: Meet Clancy the therapy dog this Thursday at the Arnprior Public Library! Clancy is a sweet Glen of Imaal Terrier who loves spreading joy throughout the library and receiving lots of pets and praise. He and his handler will be on site from 3:00 to 3:30 pm to earn more community hours through the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program!
TOMORROW: Join Renfrew Minor Hockey Association for Youth Shinny Program for ages 9–13 at 4:00 pm this Friday, October 2. A fun, informal way for young players to build confidence, get extra ice time, and enjoy the game with friends. Full hockey equipment is required, including a CSA-approved helmet with a full face mask. For safety, body contact, slap shots, and lifting the puck are not permitted. Sign up online
TOMORROW: The Whitewater Sno-Goers invite you to their Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on Friday, October 23rd, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Northcote Rink. Enjoy a delicious spaghetti dinner, including Caesar salad, a bun and a drink, for $20 per person. Kids’ meals for children 12 and under are just $10. Takeout and Sno-Goers merch will also be available! To prepay, send an e-transfer to wwsno.goers@gmail.com and include your name and the number of meals.
TOMORROW: Local businesses will be honoured this Friday evening at the Renfrew and Area Chamber of Commerce’s Pinnacle of Business Excellence Awards Banquet! The region’s leading business leaders will gather at the Renfrew Wing starting at 5:30 pm that evening to celebrate their achievements.
