Advanced voting is under way and it’s a mad dash to election day. WOW FM reporters reached out to candidates running for seats around the council table in Greater Madawaska, to give them the opportunity to share their platform with you, the voter.
In this article, you will be able to read the platform of Rob Tripp running for a seat on council in the Township of Greater Madawaska. This is his submission.
Hi, I’m Rob Tripp.
I am seeking a second term on Council to build on the progress we have made together. My experience can help Council make informed decisions and provide the steady leadership our Township needs. Above all, I want to leave our Township – and future Councils – organizationally and financially stronger than it was when we took our seats four years ago.
Drawing on my experience in health governance, leadership, and policy, I will continue to provide an informed, respected voice as we collaborate with health partners, educational institutions, and government officials to expand Calabogie’s medical centre – bringing more services closer to home and meeting our community’s evolving needs.
Thriving communities depend on responsible governance, sound financial planning, and effective oversight. Over the past four years, we have established a 10-year fiscal strategy to eliminate debt and build strong reserves by 2036. Continuity at the Council table in a second term will strengthen oversight and stewardship of this plan. A stable financial foundation affords us the flexibility to adapt to a changing economic climate in the years ahead.
I remain committed to ensure that we have active programs that engage and enrich youth in our communities, coupled with active seniors’ programs that allow seniors to remain healthy and grow gracefully in their community and in their homes.
My deep community roots reinforce my commitment to responsible growth that protects our close-knit character and local heritage. We can achieve this through careful planning, genuine community engagement, smart growth, and strategic economic development.
As we navigate change, Council needs proven leadership, fresh thinking, clear direction, and collaboration – qualities I have developed throughout my career.
I am asking Greater Madawaska’s Ward 1 residents for their vote to serve as one of their two Councillors.
