Advanced voting is under way and it’s a mad dash to election day. WOW FM reporters reached out to candidates running for seats around the council table in Arnprior, to give them the opportunity to share their platform with you, the voter.
In this article, you will be able to read the platform of Seth Malina running for a seat on council in the Town of Arnprior. This is his submission.
My name is Seth Malina, and I’m running for Arnprior Town Council.
Arnprior has been my home since I was ten years old. I grew up here, graduated from Arnprior District High School, and now I’m working toward a political science degree at Carleton University. I’ve stayed involved along the way — first as a youth representative on town advisory committees, and now as a volunteer youth sports coach.
I’m running because Arnprior deserves councillors who are thinking about the town’s next decade, not just the next budget cycle. My priorities are straightforward.
Road safety. Our streets need to be safe for kids walking to school, seniors crossing downtown, and everyone in between. I’ll push for traffic-calming measures where residents are asking for them — not where it’s politically convenient.
Infrastructure management. Arnprior is growing, and our roads, water systems, and facilities have to keep up. I’ll support honest long-term planning and responsible maintenance so we stop paying more later for what we deferred today.
I’m also focused on building policies now that set Arnprior up for success in the 2030s: growth that serves residents, a downtown that thrives, and a council that’s open and accountable to the people it serves.
Voting is open October 16 to 26, online or by phone. I’d be honoured to earn your vote — and your trust.
