Advanced voting is under way and it’s a mad dash to election day. WOW FM reporters reached out to candidates running for seats around the council table in Arnprior, to give them the opportunity to share their platform with you, the voter.
In this article, you will be able to read the platform of Chris Toner running for a seat on council in the Town of Arnprior. This is his submission.
It’s been an absolute privilege serving our community on Arnprior Town Council for the past eight years.
Throughout my time on council, I’ve been an independent voice, bringing practical experience, a collaborative approach, and a willingness to roll up my sleeves to get things done.
I’m a proud and proven community builder who believes Arnprior is at its best when we work together. Our town is built on connections, community spirit, and people who care about making a difference.
If re-elected, my priorities for the next four years include;
- practical solutions to clear more sidewalks in the winter
- source/reallocate funding that will actively attract visitors into Arnprior to support our existing businesses
- keep the momentum moving forward to complete the Waterfront Revitalization Project
- ensure future budgets maintain healthy contributions into reserve funds to support the Long Range Capital Forecast and The Pay-As-You-Go model
- expand our cultural and heritage programs, events and activities
- continuing our environmental initiatives and protecting our natural assets
It would be a privilege and an honour to earn your vote for re-election to Arnprior Town Council.
Thank you for your continued trust and support.
Chris Toner
