Helping kids stay active in local sports will be as simple as dropping off your empty bottles at the right location this weekend.
The Upper Ottawa Valley Lightning Ringette Association will be out in the community for a bottle drive this Saturday, October 17, as the community can expect to see a flurry of pink jerseys at the Renfrew Beer Store and Charbonneau’s Grocery in Calabogie.
While a lot of what the association does happens in Renfrew, Board Member Graham Vesey says their impact can be felt throughout the heart of the Valley.
Proceeds from the drive will go right back into reducing ice-time costs, purchasing new equipment, and introducing other player development programming for the association’s growing player pool.
The growing list of improvements the UOV Lightning have made to their player experience have also taken advantage of increased opportunities at rinks within their territory, such as Renfrew’s myFM Centre.
The public can leave their empties with UOV Lightning families stationed at either store from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday. Bins and bags will be available for those who need help safely dropping off their contributions.
