Fall is the time where families and friends get together and celebrate the season, however, with the increasing costs of food, that can be a bit difficult for some.
The Arnprior and District Food Bank is becoming a more relied upon organization in the community and preparations are already underway for the holiday season ahead.
One need the food bank is looking for is manpower. Food drives and donations increase during this time and they could always use the hands to make sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Volunteer Coordinator Sue Diotte says the help is always appreciated.
Volunteers keep the operation going and even though Christmas is months away, things need to be planned out precisely to ensure everyone gets what they need.
That’s Linda Roberts, she’s the Manager of the Arnprior and District Food Bank. If you don’t have the time to volunteer, donating is another way to make sure bellies in the community stay full.
But of course, if you or someone you know is struggling with food insecurity and need something to help you make it to that next paycheque, they’re always happy to help you down at the food bank.
You can find out all the information on the food bank by visiting their website, by giving them a call at 613-622-2663 or emailing them at gethelp@adfb.ca.
