Things to do in Arnprior and the Valley: planning the next 48

Here is a quick snapshot of what’s happening around town the next 48 hours.

TODAY: The youth of Mississippi Mills invite everyone to join them on September 30th, at 7:00 pm, for the community’s annual Truth and Reconciliation Vigil, taking place at Riverfront Park, 272 Spring Street in Almonte. The event starts with a reflective walk at 6:30 pm followed by guest speakers, readings, and a special guests. Following the program, everyone will be invited to place a candle at The Seven Gifts and, in their own time and space, to reflect on what has been shared and how each of us can continue on the path of Reconciliation.

TODAY: Embark on a Fall Colours bus tour of Pontiac West with the Chapeau Regionale Gallerie. The tour rolls out this Wednesday, September 30 from Harrington Hall at 9:00 am. Please wear an orange shirt as part of local recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. $25 per person – includes lunch, beverage & bus driver tip. Space is limited. TODAY: ontrac’s Arnprior office will host a weekly job search drop-in this Wednesday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. TOMORROW: Grab a paddle and get ready for fun in McNab/Braeside! Registration will open this Thursday, October 1, for the township’s Learn to Play Pickleball Workshop happening in November. The hands-on 2-hour session will teach you the fundamentals of the sport with an experienced instructor. $20+HST per session. Registration required, do so online.
