The 2026 Ontario Municipal Elections fall on Monday, October 26th, but you may want make sure you have everything aligned before voting day.
Register to Vote
The first thing you’ll want to do is ensure you’re registered to vote. You can check, update, add, or remove your information by visiting the Town of Arnprior’s municipal office at 105 Elgin St. West. Doing this will ensure you receive your voter information letter in a timely way.
You should receive your voter information letter approximately two weeks before election day. If you don’t receive your letter, you should reach out to the clerks office at Town of Arnprior as soon as possible. You can check with them by emailing election@arnprior.ca or by calling 613-623-4231, extension 1817.
If you do need to update your information within the two weeks to election day, you can visit the clerks office at 105 Elgin Street West to correct or add your information to the voter list. You have until end of voting day on October 26th. You will need two pieces of I.D. to prove your eligibility to vote.
Voting Process
In July of 2025, Arnprior council passed a by-law to authorize the use of alternative voting for the 2026 Municipal Election to increase the accessibility and convenient method of voting. The alternative methods are via internet and telephone.
Your voter information letter should arrive in early October providing you information on how and when to vote.
Voting opens on October 16th at 10 a.m. and will run until October 26th at 8 p.m.
Voters will only be able to cast a ballot using a computer, tablet or smartphone, or by telephone.
A Voter Help Centre will be opened during the voting period for anyone experiencing difficulties casting their ballot. The centre will be located at the town’s municipal offices at 105 Elgin Street West.
Once voting as concluded on October 26th, the clerk will declare the results of the election and accompanying information on the town’s website. We will also be sharing the information as soon as it becomes available on our website, arnpriortoday.ca.
