Lanark County Paramedic Services (LCPS) are about to have a new home in Almonte.
In 2023, the LCPS base in Almonte was significantly damaged by a fire on March 31st around 7am.
Because of quick actions by the crew, they were able to remove vehicles and equipment from the building and evacuate safely. The Mississippi Mills Fire Department (MMFD) was able to contain the fire quickly and preventing any damage to nearby homes and facilities, with mutual aid from the Carleton Place Fire Department.
Now, nearly three and a half years later, the rebuilt and expanded LCPS base will be reopening this Friday, September 25th with a grand re-opening ceremony marking the occasion.
The Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) assures paramedic services were not impacted due to the fire.
