The Lanark County OPP says the body found inside a burned out vehicle in Mississippi Mills last Friday (September 11) was a victim of homicide.
Sergeant Erin Cranton says they’ve identified the deceased as a local man.
The cause of death has not yet been determined.
Campbell’s body was found after police and firefighters were called to a vehicle fire in a wooded area off of Ramsay Concession 12 in Mississippi Mills.
Sgt. Cranton reassures local residents that police are on the case.
The investigation is being conducted by the Lanark County OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
