A hub of information in Arnprior helps trail travellers navigate their way through the town and surrounding area.
The Arnprior Station, set up by Dan Lynch and the crew from The Men’s Shed – Arnprior, McNab/Braeside, is an information hub set on the former site of the original Arnprior Train Station. The location offers physical maps and a large display showing ATV/side-by-side friendly businesses for food, bathrooms and everything else. The display also shows easily accessible routes for cyclists.
Dan Lynch, Member of The Men’s Shed, says the idea originally came from Ron Moss at the Ottawa Valley Cycling and Active Transportation Alliance (OVCATA).
Through the love of their community and the rail history of Arnprior, Lynch, The Men’s Shed team and sponsors poured their time, effort and money into building this information kiosk.

The hub is located where the Algonquin Trail crosses John St. near William St. in Arnprior and is marked by a rail crossing light donated by Lynch. He says the location is getting a lot of traffic using the hub and taking a free map.

Lynch originally installed three map boxes for trail travellers, however needed something more durable. Using his own materials, he made a map box and had it painted by sponsor Bonnie Giles and installed it in place of the original three.
Now, trail riders from all throughout the valley can stop, get the information they need and carry on in the right direction, thanks to Lynch, The Men’s Shed of Arnprior and McNab/Braeside and his entire list of sponsors.
