Police lay assault charges after a collision in Mississippi Mills Township.
On August 17th just before 7 p.m., Lanark County OPP received a call about a vehicle driving into the porch of a home on Martin Street South in Almonte. The driver was then seen fleeing on foot.
Shortly before arrival, police received a second call about someone trying to enter a vehicle near the hospital before running off.
Police tracked down the suspect, arrested the man and determined that this was the same person who drove into the porch. The suspect was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the initial crash.
After an investigation, the police charged 25-year-old Nathan Oram of Ottawa with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault, and mischief under $5,000.
The man has been released from custody and is set to attend court on November 16th, 2026.
