An Arnprior man is celebrating after winning a $1-million prize in an Ontario lottery draw.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation says Andrew H. won the prize in the Gold Ball Draw portion of the June 17 LOTTO 6/49 draw.
Andrew, who has been playing OLG lottery games for about 20 years, said he discovered the win after scanning his ticket at a retail store.
“I checked it many times to make sure it was real,” he said in a statement released by OLG.
The longtime LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX player described the win as “overwhelming and shocking,” adding that it still feels unbelievable to have won such a large prize.
He said he plans to use the money to take a vacation and complete renovations on his home.
According to OLG, the winning ticket was purchased at the Circle K convenience store on Raglan Street South in Renfrew.
LOTTO 6/49’s Gold Ball Draw guarantees a $1-million prize or a growing jackpot that starts at $10 million, while the Classic Draw offers a fixed $5-million jackpot with every draw.
