The Ottawa Valley’s art scene continues to get plenty of love and attention as the Art Factory in Renfrew prepares for its annual art fair.
This year’s edition of the art fair is back at the Bridge Street studio from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm this Saturday, July 25.
Art Factory owner Patrick John Mills explains that the popular event has been a way to solve a long-standing pain point for his business: how to give a share of the spotlight to as many artists as possible.
Mills expects the Art Factory to be absolutely packed this weekend, with the most artists they have ever hosted at the event set to offer “just about everything.”
It’s a swell of support that has perhaps shocked even him.
With artists having to deal with a shifting landscape as the economy and other outside forces affect how many opportunities there are to showcase their work, Mills says the art fair is a “perfect storm” that relies on the region’s rural lifestyle to allow artists to thrive.
Admission to the Art Fair is free for guests, with food available on-site thanks to Charlie’s Eatery in Eganville.
