Arnprior:
Today: A Bridge Club drop in welcomes players from beginners to experienced Fridays from 1230-330PM in the Main Community Hall of the Arnprior Public Library. There is no fee or registration to attend, however donations will be accepted in support of the High School’s Guidance Office and their Teens in Need program.
Tomorrow: The Arnprior Library’s daytime book club for Millennials meets monthly on the last Saturday of the month from 10AM to Noon. If you would like to add your name to the list, please send us an email and we will let you know when a space becomes available. library@arnpriorlibrary.ca
Mississippi Mills:
Today: The 3rd Annual Multicultural Potluck on Mill Street is planned for Friday June 26th on Lower Mill Street in Almonte. Bring a dish, meet your neighbours, enjoy live entertainment and celebrate the incredible diversity of Mississippi Mills. The event will run from 5-8PM- and should it rain, will be in the Almonte Old Town Hall.
There are a lot of sponsoring organizations in the mix; The Multicultural Potluck on Mill Street is presented by The Inclusion Project, Mississippi Mills Bicycle Month, and the Municipality of Mississippi Mills, with support from Local Immigration Partnership – Lanark & Renfrew, Culture Connect, the Mississippi Masonic Lodge, Mississippi Mills All My Relations and the Government of Canada.
Tomorrow: Come out and play some pickleball from 9AM-4PM at the John Levi Community Centre, Curling Slab, 182 Bridge Street, there are four pickleball courts set up and ready for play. Cost (cash only) is $4 residents, $6 non-residents and $2 youth residents, $3 youth non-residents (under 18). Paddles and balls can be borrowed on site at no charge.
Carleton Place:
Today: The Carleton Place Public Library 101 Beckwith Street, invites you to its Library Lemonade Stand Summer Reading Kick-Off from 1-3PM. The Pipes Are Calling Weekly Summer Concert Series debuts Friday evening from 6-630PM. Through the efforts of band manager Neil MacLeod, and members of the Captain A. Roy Brown Legion Branch 192 Cenotaph Committee, members of the band have agreed to perform at the local Carleton Place Cenotaph in Veterans Memorial Park on Friday evenings throughout the summer months. A piper or pipers will start the program in Carleton Place on Friday, June 26th and play every Friday through September 4th, the start of the long Labour Day Weekend.
