Here’s what’s going on in Arnprior and area over the next 48 hours.
Arnprior:
Today: A Mahjong Meet-up takes place from 1230-330PM each Thursday in the Arnprior Library’s Scharf Hall. Adults who are looking to learn this game are most welcome to join.
A Therapy Dog Visit happens every Thursday, from 3-330PM as the Arnprior Library welcomes Cooper and his handler Carrie to meet with library visitors. Cooper is a super friendly Golden Retriever and always loves making new friends. Stop by to meet Cooper as he gains more community hours through the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program.
Tomorrow: A Bridge Club drop in welcomes players from beginners to experienced Fridays from 1230-330PM in the Main Community Hall of the Arnprior Public Library. There is no fee or registration to attend, however donations will be accepted in support of the High School’s Guidance Office and their Teens in Need program.
Mississippi Mills:
Today: Come out and play some pickleball in Pakenham from 6-9PM at the Stewart Community Centre, 112 MacFarlane Street. There are four pickleball courts ready for play. Cost is $4 residents, $6 non-residents; $2 youth residents, $3 youth non-residents (under 18). Cash only. Paddles and balls can be borrowed on site at no charge.
Tomorrow: The 3rd Annual Multicultural Potluck on Mill Street is planned for Friday June 26th on Lower Mill Street in Almonte. Bring a dish, meet your neighbours, enjoy live entertainment and celebrate the incredible diversity of Mississippi Mills. The event will run from 5-8PM- and should it rain, will be in the Almonte Old Town Hall.
There are a lot of sponsoring organizations in the mix; The Multicultural Potluck on Mill Street is presented by The Inclusion Project, Mississippi Mills Bicycle Month, and the Municipality of Mississippi Mills, with support from Local Immigration Partnership – Lanark & Renfrew, Culture Connect, the Mississippi Masonic Lodge, Mississippi Mills All My Relations and the Government of Canada.

Carleton Place:
Today: NLCC Bingo happens from 430-930PM at the Navy League building located at 137 John Street. Games have a 645PM start. Doors open at 4:30PM, ticket sales start at 5:30. Cash only. There are 50/50 tickets, Break open tickets and a Canteen.
Tomorrow: The Carleton Place Public Library 101 Beckwith Street, invites you to its Library Lemonade Stand Summer Reading Kick-Off from 1-3PM. The Pipes Are Calling Weekly Summer Concert Series debuts Friday evening from 6-630PM. Through the efforts of band manager Neil MacLeod, and members of the Captain A. Roy Brown Legion Branch 192 Cenotaph Committee, members of the band will perform at the local Carleton Place Cenotaph in Veterans Memorial Park on Friday evenings throughout the summer months through September 4th, the start of the long Labour Day Weekend.
A Parisian Flavors Cooking Class takes place at the Blue Spoon Atelier Bakery & Cafe 5 Allan Street, from 6-9PM. Join the BlueSpoon Atelier for an unforgettable Parisian cooking class and discover the art of authentic French cuisine.
