Here’s what’s going on in Arnprior and area over the next 48 hours.
Arnprior:
Today: A Community Chess Club meet-up takes place from Noon-5PM in the Art Corridor of the Arnprior Public Library. This is an informal meetup for all ages and skill levels.
A Therapy Dog Visit happens every Wednesday from 3-330PM at the Arnprior Public Library as Clancy and his handler Angela to meet with library visitors. Clancy is a happy Glen of Imaal Terrier. His breed is originally from Ireland. They were farm dogs and used for hunting fox and badger. Stop by to meet Clancy as he gains more community hours through the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program in partnership with the Arnprior Public Library.
Tomorrow: English Lessons for all levels are now being offered Thursdays from 1030AM-230PM in the Main Community Hall at the Arnprior Public Library. The event, in partnership with the Renfrew County District School Board will be offered until the end of June. Lana Johnston (English as a Second Language Instructor for Adults) will be hosting. There are 30 seats available, and registration is encouraged at the link posted on the Library events calendar.
A Mahjong Meet-up takes place from 1230-330PM each Thursday in the Arnprior Library’s Scharf Hall. Adults who are looking to learn this game are most welcome to join.
A Therapy Dog Visit involves Cooper and his handler Carrie. He loves spreading his joy throughout the library and will gravitate to cuddles and a treat afterwards. Stop by to meet Cooper as he gains more community hours through the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program in partnership with the Arnprior Public Library.
Dungeons & Dragons occurs from 3-450PM. The program is for both experienced players and those new to the game. Participants are in grades 5 – 8. Snacks are provided. If you’d like to join, please email Carolyn: youth@arnpriorlibrary.ca
Take Note: The Arnprior and District Museum invites you to the Fibre Arts Drop In, to occur on Sunday June 14th at 2PM as local Spinner and Weaver Jenny Croft will lead a free, family-friendly public fibre arts drop in. Find out about the Museum’s new loom and spinning equipment that are available for public use.
Mississippi Mills:

Come out for some Line Dancing fun at the Upper Hall at the John Levi Community Centre, 182 Bridge St., from 7-8:30PM. Jayla Currie and Sam MacLeod will get you moving to ‘Burn it to the Ground’ by Nickleback! This FREE event is FUN for all ages.

Drop in to play Pickle Ball at from 6-9PM at the Stewart Community Centre, 112 MacFarlane Street, there are four pickleball courts set up and ready for play. Cost (cash only): $4 residents, $6 non-residents or $2 youth residents, $3 youth non-residents. Paddles and balls can be borrowed on site at no charge.
Carleton Place:
Today: The free Community Breakfast occurs from 8-10AM at St. James Anglican Church, 225 Edmund Street. All are welcome.
Tomorrow: NLCC Bingo happens from 4:30 pm – 9:30 pm at the Navy League of Canada 137 John Street, every Thursday night. 6:45 pm Start Doors open at 4:30, ticket sales start at 5:30 pm. Cash only 50/50 tickets. Break open tickets. Canteen available.
