Today: Toddler Tales is an event for Children aged 12 months to 2.5 years taking place from 10-1030AM in the Library’s sunny Scharf Hall. To join in on themed stories, songs, rhymes and a fun craft all you need is your library card to get a name tag and participate.
English Lessons for beginners In-Person happens from 10AM-Noon in the Gaumand Room of the Arnprior Public Library. Newcomers are welcome to attend this free drop-in ESL program led by qualified volunteer tutors. The Friday meet-ups are geared toward beginner learners. Meet new people, enjoy a coffee and improve your English skills.
A Drop-in Preschool Story Time takes place from 11-1130AM for children ages 2.5 to school age are invited to our beautiful sunny Scharf Hall for themed stories, songs, rhymes and a fun craft for this half hour of library fun. All you need is your library card to get a name tag and enjoy the fun every Friday.
A Bridge Club drop in welcomes players from beginners to experienced Fridays from 1230-330PM in the Main Community Hall of the Arnprior Public Library. There is no fee or registration to attend, however donations will be accepted in support of the High School’s Guidance Office and their Teens in Need program.
Tomorrow: The Milennial Book Club’s monthly meeting is tomorrow. This month’s book is The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella. Membership in the club is currently at maximum, but you can be added to the Waiting List if interested. Email library@arnpriorlibrary.ca
Take Note: The Arnprior and District Museum invites you to the Fibre Arts Drop In, to occur on Sunday June 14th at 2PM as local Spinner and Weaver Jenny Croft will lead a free, family-friendly public fibre arts drop in. Mississippi Mills:

The Lanark County Interval House and Community Support’s 3rd Annual Golf Fore Change Tournament is on at the Mississippi Golf Club. Register a team of 2 or 4 for this mixed tournament. Enrolment fee includes 18 holes of championship golf, power cart, swag bag, barbecue following the tournament, access to exciting prizes, raffles, and live and silent auction as well as a chance to win $10,000 with our Hole-in-One Contest! The Perfect Time: A Musical is being presented at the Almonte Old Town Hall, beginning at 730PM. The Perfect Time is a funny, passionate and relatable musical that follows Gen-X professionals preparing for a high-school reunion while their kids stare down graduation. This new Canadian musical by James and Kelly Torck is directed by Kris Riendeau. Presented by Humm Team Productions and The 20 Bureau. Performances will occur evenings May 29th and 30th with a 2PM matinee May 31st

Tomorrow: Participate in the first annual Amazing Almonte Garage Sale on Saturday, May 30th, starting at 8AM. This community-wide sale is an invitation for all Almontonians (and friends!) to declutter after a long winter AND support the hospital at the same time. Gagne Animal Rescue is coordinating a bottle drive as part of this event AND Dan’s Dump Run will be visiting the community post-sale to help dispose or donate items that remain and are unwanted.
Mega Machines Day takes place at the Almonte Civitan Hall, 500 Almonte Street from 9AM-3PM. Admission is Pay-what-you can, with proceeds to support the Civitan Accessible Family Playground Project.

Carleton Place:
Today: The Carleton Place Youth Centre presents a Space Explorers PA Day Camp from 8AM to 5PM at the Centre, 360 Edmund Street. The camp’s inspiration is the recent Artemis II mission and the cost is $45 for the day.

You Can’t Do That On Television is a namesake event at the Dark and Deadly Cafe, 1 Costello Drive Unit 5 happening from 10AM-2PM. It’s a touch of Canadian nostalgia with a meet and greet with some of the cast members from the show. Photos, autographs and merch will be available.
The Story of McArthur Island is the Heritage Museum’s 2026 Summer exhibition and opening is from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at 267 Edmund Street. Explore the landscapes, industries, people, and enduring mysteries of this unique island at the center of Carleton Place.
