Here’s what’s going on in Arnprior and area over the next 48 hours.
Arnprior:
Today: A Scrabble Club Meet-Up happens from Noon-2PM at the Arnprior Library’s Art Corridor in the lower level. The library has several game boards and provides a cup of coffee for Adult players.
Paper Quilling Workshops are now offered Tuesday afternoons from 1-3PM to accommodate numbers. Held in Scharf Hall; you are welcome whether you are a paper quilling enthusiast, or new to the craft and looking for others who want to learn from one another and enjoy some social time. You bring your own supplies and projects; the library will provide the space. Please register space can be set up accordingly.
Tomorrow: Wednesday Baby Rhyme Time. Join the Library for its midweek story time of giggles and fun for babies and their caregivers. The event happens from 1130-Noon in Scharf Hall. Registration is required for this 6 week session which features stories, rhymes and of course lots of bubbles. Signup is underway, and you require valid library cards for both you and your baby to successfully register.
A Community Chess Club meet-up takes place from Noon-5PM in the Art Corridor of the Arnprior Public Library. This is an informal meetup for all ages and skill levels.
A Therapy Dog Visit happens every Wednesday from 3-330PM at the Arnprior Public Library as Clancy and his handler Angela to meet with library visitors. Clancy is a happy Glen of Imaal Terrier. His breed is originally from Ireland. They were farm dogs and used for hunting fox and badger. Stop by to meet Clancy as he gains more community hours through the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program in partnership with the Arnprior Public Library.
LEGO Lounge takes place in the Main Community Hall of the Arnprior Public Library from 345-445PM for children ages 5 and up. This free drop-in program enables children to build with our extensive LEGO collection, and then have their creation placed on display in the library. Snacks are provided. Attending children need to present their Arnprior Library card.
Take Note: The Arnprior and District Museum invites you to the Fibre Arts Drop In, to occur on Sunday June 14th at 2PM as local Spinner and Weaver Jenny Croft will lead a free, family-friendly public fibre arts drop in. Find out about the Museum’s new loom and spinning equipment that are available for public use.
Mississippi Mills:

Today: The Carleton Place Community Lunch takes place from Noon-1PM at Zion Memorial Church, 37 Franklin Street.
Civitan Weekly Bingo is on from 430-9PM at the Carleton Place Arena, 75 Neelin Street.
Flow and Stroll happens from 6-7PM at the Carleton Place Public Library, 101 Beckwith Street. Meet up in the front lobby of the library and head out on the OVRT for a walk. All paces and abilities welcome!

It’s Veterans Coffee Mornings at the Legion, 177 George Street from 930-11AM. All Veterans and available active service people are invited to come and enjoy a comfortable atmosphere, conversation and free light refreshments.
An Our Stories Documentary Information Session occurs Wednesday from 6-7PM at the Carleton Place Public Library. Teen filmmakers are encouraged to attend this info session about a local documentary project that pairs them with seniors.
