Arnprior:
Today: Toddler Tales is an event for Children aged 12 months to 2.5 years taking place from 10-1030AM in the Library’s sunny Scharf Hall. To join in on themed stories, songs, rhymes and a fun craft all you need is your library card to get a name tag and participate.
English Lessons for beginners In-Person happens from 10AM-Noon in the Gaumand Room of the Arnprior Public Library. Newcomers are welcome to attend this free drop-in ESL program led by qualified volunteer tutors. The Friday meet-ups are geared toward beginner learners. Meet new people, enjoy a coffee and improve your English skills.
A Drop-in Preschool Story Time takes place from 11-1130AM for children ages 2.5 to school age are invited to our beautiful sunny Scharf Hall for themed stories, songs, rhymes and a fun craft for this half hour of library fun. All you need is your library card to get a name tag and enjoy the fun every Friday.
A Bridge Club drop in welcomes players from beginners to experienced Fridays from 1230-330PM in the Main Community Hall of the Arnprior Public Library. There is no fee or registration to attend, however donations will be accepted in support of the High School’s Guidance Office and their Teens in Need program.
Take Note: The Arnprior and District Museum invites you to the Fibre Arts Drop In, to occur on Sunday June 14th at 2PM as local Spinner and Weaver Jenny Croft will lead a free, family-friendly public fibre arts drop in. Mississippi Mills:
Today: The Municipality of Mississippi Mills is celebrating Youth Week with an Arcade Takeover at the upper hall of the John Levi Community Centre today and tomorrow. GamesToGo is rolling in with Classic arcade games, Racing simulators, a full Rock Band setup and VR station. The Family Fun Arcade is suitable for all ages and it runs Friday May 8th from 3-6PM and Saturday May 9th from Noon-3 and 3-6PM. The After Dark Arcade, which includes tournament play is geared to ages 12-17 and take place tonight and Saturday night from 6-9PM. Each ticket includes unlimited play during your session, as well as a slice of pizza + drink from Mamma’s Pizza.

Tomorrow: Art in the Attic’s 36th Annual Show takes place today from 10AM-5PM at 14 Bridge Street.
Meet local artists and artisans with the Almonte & Area Artists Association at their annual Art in the Attic show and sale this Mother’s Day weekend. Featured will be Artwork, photography, sculptures, printmaking, leatherworks and more. Free admission! The show also runs Sunday from 10AM-4PM.

Today: The Poutine Feast 2026 Tour is in in Riverside Park from 11AM-8PM. It’s a full festival weekend celebrating Canada’s most iconic comfort food. The event is bigger and tastier than ever.
Live Music at St. James Gate happens at 111 Bridge Street from 7-10PM featuring Bahoo and the Brat.
The Play That Goes Wrong is a fast-paced farce about an amateur theatre troupe attempting to stage a 1920s murder mystery-with disastrously hilarious results. It takes place in the Town Hall Auditorium May 7th-9th from 730-930PM. From collapsing sets and missing props to forgotten lines and mistimed sound effects, everything that can go wrong does. Tickets are $25 per person, with no refunds or exchanges.
Tomorrow: The debut of the Carleton Place Farmers Market for 2026 takes place today from 830AM-1230PM at Market Square, 7 Beckwith Street. Shop for fresh produce, baked goods, handmade treasures- rain or shine.
An Indigenous Cultural Fair, hosted by Zion Memorial United Church and the Carleton Place Public Library takes place from 10AM-3PM. The annual event is a primary fundraiser for Art for Aid that sees Indigenous culture celebrated and embraced in the town of Carleton Place. Art for Aid is a grassroots project created by local Indigenous artist Colleen Gray. The program sees art supplies collected and shipped from Carleton Place to remote Indigenous schools and art programs across the country from September to May annually.

Screenings at 11am and 2pm of this National Film Board movie in conjunction with the Indigenous Cultural Fair. Told from a child’s perspective, this immersive documentary traces the hopes and dreams of three children from different Indigenous nations.
The St. James Church-Mother’s Day Tea & Fashion Show happens from 2-4PM at the Church, 225 Edmund Street. Local Sports:
Renfrew Minor Baseball (serving families from Renfrew, Arnprior, Douglas, etc.) is gearing up for its 2026 season, with practices and opening games typically starting late April / early May.
Divisions run from T-Ball through Senior, meaning diamonds will be busy most evenings. Arnprior-area minor softball also shifts into spring/summer play through municipal and association programs.
