Arnprior:
Today: English Lessons for all levels are now being offered Thursdays from 1030AM-230PM in the Main Community Hall at the Arnprior Public Library. The event, in partnership with the Renfrew County District School Board will be offered until the end of June. Lana Johnston (English as a Second Language Instructor for Adults) will be hosting. There are 30 seats available, and registration is encouraged at the link posted on the Library events calendar.
A Mahjong Meet-up takes place from 1230-330PM each Thursday in the Arnprior Library’s Scharf (Scarf) Hall. Adults who are looking to learn this game are most welcome to join.
A Therapy Dog Visit happens every Thursday, as the Arnprior Library welcomes Cooper and his handler Carrie to meet with library visitors. Cooper is a super friendly Golden Retriever and always loves making new friends. Stop by to meet Cooper as he gains more community hours through the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program.
Dungeons & Dragons happens Thursdays in the Arnprior Library’s Main Community Hall from 300-450PM. This Dungeons & Dragons program is for both experienced players and those new to the game. A Grief Support Group coordinated by Hospice Renfrew in partnership with the library takes place on the first Thursday of month in the tranquility of Scharf Hall from 445-615PM. For more information about this meet-up, please reach out to Hospice Renfrew 613-433-3993.
Take Note: The Arnprior and District Museum invites you to the Fibre Arts Drop In, to occur on Sunday June 14th at 2PM as local Spinner and Weaver Jenny Croft will lead a free, family-friendly public fibre arts drop in. Find out about the Museum’s new loom and spinning equipment that are available for public use.
Mississippi Mills:
Today: The Almonte Civitan Club Community Luncheon take place from 1130-130PM at the Civitan Hall on Almonte Street. The menu features Beef Pasta Casserole, Garden Salad, Dinner Rolls, White Cake with hot Butterscotch sauce and coffee or tea. Carleton Place:
Today: The Silver Linings Society meets from 930-1030AM at the Carleton Place Public Library.
Poutine Feast returns to Carleton Place Thursday at Riverside Park from 11AM-8PM. It’s a celebration of local pride, community, and Canadian food culture with Poutine Vendors featuring classic favourites and creative twists.
NLCC Bingo takes place from 4:30-9:30PM at the Navy League Club of Canada building, 137 John Street.
Doors open at 4:30, ticket sales start at 5:30 pm. Cash only. There are 50/50 tickets, Break open tickets and a canteen.
Another Lynn Miles Songwriting Workshop occurs from 7-9PM at the Carleton Place Gallery, 210 Bridge Street. Cost to participate is $45 + HST. Attendance could be the perfect gift for a potential writer who would like to learn from a Juno winner/Grammy nominated/6-time winner at the Canadian Folk Music Awards.
