A tip of the Civic Hat from the Town of Arnprior, as, at the April 27th municipal meeting, Council members proclaimed May Day as “First Responders Day.”
Elected representatives encouarge residents to mull the significance of a debt we often take as foregranted.
First responders are those men and women who, in the early stages of an emergency, are responsible for the protection and preservation of life, property, evidence and the environment.
The Municipal Proclamation acknowledges individuals toiling across professions, including paramedics, police officers, firefighters, physicians, medical evacuation pilots, emergency management personnel, road maintenance workers, and members of the Canadian Armed Forces- all of whom put others before self.
Their commitment warrants the recognition and gratitude of all of us.
