Visitations for the late Reverend Doctor Leo Hughes of Arnprior will be held at the Boyce Funeral Home at 138 Daniel Street North, today (April 15th) from 2-4PM and 7-9PM.
Reverend Hughes expired at the Ottawa Heart Institute on Saturday, April 11th 2026 at the age of 95 years.
A native of Montreal, Reverend Hughes was married in 1956 to his beloved spouse Margaret, who predeceased him.
His pastoral journey brought him to Arnprior in 1967 and he retired from the Ministry here in 1998, but remained active as a Religious Education teacher at Walter Zadow School- and was never far from the pulpit up until the very end.
That’s Lions Club member, and neighbour to Leo Hughes, Don Gougeon.
A Lions Club service will take place Wednesday evening at 6:30PM, followed by a Legion service at 6:45PM.
A Commemorative Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 80 Daniel Street North, on Thursday, April 16th from 11AM-Noon. The service will be held via Live Webcast for those unable to attend.
