Earlier this week (April 7th), the Almonte Curling Club was buzzing as firefighters from departments across Lanark County came together for a Mutual Aid Curling Night.
This event was hosted as part of the renewed Lanark County Mutual Aid Training Committee initiative, which builds on a long history of county-wide cooperation dating back to the 1950s.
The committee offers specialized training opportunities, county-wide training days, and—just as importantly—social events that build strong working relationships between departments.
This curling night was a great example of that third pillar—bringing firefighters together in a relaxed setting to connect, share stories, and strengthen the relationships that matter when called upon to work together.
