Here’s what’s going on in Arnprior and area over the next 48 hours.
Arnprior:
Today: The Arnprior 10 Book Club, a daytime book club for seniors hosted by both the Library and the Seniors Active Living Centre meets the first Tuesday of each month in Scharf Hall from September to June. Hours are between 11AM and 1230PM The club is running awaiting list, to which you can add your name by emailing lbrary@arnpriorlibrary.ca. This month’s book is Hidden Figures by Margo Lee Shetterly.
A Scrabble Club Meet-Up happens from Noon-2PM at the Arnprior Library’s Art Corridor in the lower level. The library has several game boards and provides a cup of coffee for Adult players.
The Garden Club and Seed Library holds its session Tuesday from 6-730PM in the Main Community Hall of the Arnprior Library. Join this group of gardening enthusiasts and learn all about native plants, pollinators, seeds and more.
Tomorrow: A Community Chess Club meet-up takes place from Noon-5PM in the Art Corridor of the Arnprior Public Library. This is an informal meetup for all ages and skill levels.
A Therapy Dog Visit happens every Wednesday from 3-330PM at the Arnprior Public Library as Clancy and his handler Angela to meet with library visitors. Clancy is a happy Glen of Imaal Terrier. His breed is originally from Ireland. They were farm dogs and used for hunting fox and badger. Stop by to meet Clancy as he gains more community hours through the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program in partnership with the Arnprior Public Library.
LEGO Lounge takes place in the Main Community Hall of the Arnprior Public Library from 345-445PM for children ages 5 and up. This free drop-in program enables children to build with our extensive LEGO collection, and then have their creation placed on display in the library. Snacks are provided. Attending children need to present their Arnprior Library card.
Take Note: The Arnprior and District Museum Summer Experimentation Station registration is OPEN! The initiative make films, build planets, measures slime, jousts in giant cardboard castles, and breaks pirate codes! The summer camp fosters cooperation and creative problem-solving across History, Art, and Science indoors and outdoors all summer long. Full weekly theme descriptions will be available in May but note that every day runs from 8:30AM-3:30PM June 29th to August 28th (Extended hours 7:45-4:30 available for an additional fee). Mississippi Mills:
Today: The North Lanark Regional Museum shares Echoes of the Past, Music in Mississippi Mills until the end of May. The Museum is open from 10AM-3PM and is located at 647 River Road in Almonte. Discover the evolution of music in the home, the role of music in the church and the community.
The Mississippi Mills Youth Centre provides a Kitchen Party from 5-7PM at the MMYC, 134 Main Street East.
It’s for Youth ages 10-18 to enhance their kitchen skills. Register by contacting programcoordinator@mmyc.ca

Today: The Carleton Place Community Lunch takes place from Noon-1PM at Zion Memorial Church, 37 Franklin Street.
Civitan Weekly Bingo is on from 430-9PM at the Carleton Place Arena, 75 Neelin Street.

Veterans’ Coffee at the Legion happens from 930AM-11AM at 177 George Street. All Veterans and available active service people are invited to come and enjoy a comfortable atmosphere, conversation and free light refreshments.
Local Sports:
The EOJHL Final Series for the Barkley Cup continues with Game 3 tonight, as the Smiths Falls Junior Bears visit the Casselman Vikings at the JR Brisson Complex beginning at 730PM.
