Here’s what’s going on in Arnprior and area over the next 48 hours.
Arnprior:
Today: A Scrabble Club Meet-Up happens from Noon-2PM at the Arnprior Library’s Art Corridor in the lower level. This is a day change from the previous Thursday Meet-Up. The library has several game boards and provides a cup of coffee for Adult players.
Tomorrow: A Community Chess Club meet-up takes place from Noon-5PM in the Art Corridor of the Arnprior Public Library. This is an informal meetup for all ages and skill levels.
A Therapy Dog Visit happens every Wednesday from 3-330PM at the Arnprior Public Library as Clancy and his handler Angela to meet with library visitors. Clancy is a happy Glen of Imaal Terrier. His breed is originally from Ireland. They were farm dogs and used for hunting fox and badger. Stop by to meet Clancy as he gains more community hours through the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program in partnership with the Arnprior Public Library.
LEGO Lounge takes place in the Main Community Hall of the Arnprior Public Library from 345-445PM for children ages 5 and up. This free drop-in program enables children to build with our extensive LEGO collection, and then have their creation placed on display in the library. Snacks are provided. Attending children need to present their Arnprior Library card.
Take Note: The Arnprior and District Museum Summer Experimentation Station registration is OPEN! The initiative make films, build planets, measures slime, jousts in giant cardboard castles, and breaks pirate codes! The summer camp fosters cooperation and creative problem-solving across History, Art, and Science indoors and outdoors all summer long. Full weekly theme descriptions will be available in May but note that every day runs from 8:30AM-3:30PM June 29th to August 28th (Extended hours 7:45-4:30 available for an additional fee). Mississippi Mills:
Today: The North Lanark Regional Museum shares Echoes of the Past, Music in Mississippi Mills until the end of May. The Museum is open from 10AM-3PM and is located at 647 River Road in Almonte. Discover the evolution of music in the home, the role of music in the church and the community.
The Parents ‘n Tots Skate happens Tuesdays (and Wednesdays) from 11AM-Noon at the John Levi Community Centre (182 Bridge Street, Almonte).
Pick-Up Hockey for Grades 10-U21 happens from 4-5PM at the John Levi Community Centre. Admission is $5, and full equipment is required.
A Kitchen Party is being put on by the Mississippi Mills Youth Centre from 5-7PM at the MMYC, 134 Main Street East for ages 10-18. It’s a free program for which you register by emailing programcoordinator@mmyc.ca

Riversong Players present The Strings of the Violin from 7-8PM March 25th at the Almonte Old Town Hall, 14 Bridge Street. An original play by Alisse Lee Goldenberg, The Strings of the Violin tells the story of Jewish children during WWII who, amidst fear and uncertainty, turn to imagination and folklore to find hope. Matinee and evening performances.

Local Sports:
The EOJHL Divisional Final Schedule has the Smiths Falls Junior Bears visiting the Renfrew Junior Timberwolves this evening at 8PM. The Renfrew Junior Timberwolves will play the Junior Bears in Smiths Falls at 730PM on Thursday- if necessary.
