A community fundraising campaign aimed at improving patient care at Pembroke Regional Hospital is off to a strong start, organizers say.
The hospital foundation reports the Community Challenge for Healthcare has raised $15,272 toward the purchase of two new patient beds. The equipment is intended to improve comfort, safety and care for patients receiving treatment at the hospital.
Organizers say another $11,172 is still needed to meet the goal before the end of the month. Several local businesses, including Nick’s Chicken House, The Kitchen Eatery, Mike’s Hardware and Sip Stirs, are expected to host fundraising events to help close the gap.
Foundation officials thanked donors, volunteers and community supporters for helping drive the campaign forward.
