For McNab/Braeside Mayor Lori Hoddinott, the recently announced expansion of Highway 17 needs to come sooner rather than later.
She says the project, which will expand the two lane highway to four lanes between Arnprior and Renfrew, will make a section of road that has seen several head-on collisions and fatal accidents safer for residents while also freeing up a backlog of construction in the area.
Local MPP Billy Denault announced on Friday that the province has issued requests for proposals to design the highly anticipated project.
