As of Tuesday this week, the War in Ukraine had been continuing for four years- versus the Second World War in the European theatre, which lasted about five years and nine months.
Canada’s Rotary Clubs have a strong connection with Ukraine- and the Arnprior Club is no exception.
Gerhard Peters is President of the local club, and he’s disturbed by continuing atrocities.
Rotarians in Arnprior have linked with a counterpart club in Kharkiv (har-KEEV)
Peters is referring to bedroll-size waterproof blankets that keep residents of Kharkiv that are stitched together to keep citizens warm despite Russia’s attacks on the country’s power grid and infrastructure.
The Kharhiv Rotarians handle free distribution of the blankets to those who need them.
In their previous effort, Arnprior Rotary facilitated the manufacture and distribution of the warming blankets in number.
Peters says there are a couple ways for the concerned to make a donation.
