It’s not often that one municipal council gets a peek at proceedings at another Town’s table- by that was the situation Monday (February 9th) in Arnprior.
While those who gamble are encouraged to wager responsibly, there are winners and losers- and sometimes overconfidence can get in the way.
Remember the inaugural pre-Christmas EOJHL Rivalry Series involving the two-game total goal matchups played at the NSC and myFM Centre in Renfrew?
Arnprior Mayor Lisa McGee and Renfrew Mayor Tom Sidney are each fans of their hometown teams, and the pair made a friendly bet on the outcome that the losing side’s mayor would present themselves at their local Council table wearing the opposing side’s jersey.
The series was won by the Arnprior Packers- and while Sidney’s side lost, it was Renfrew Reeve Peter Emon who was the sport, as Sidney was on leave of absence when the matches were played.
A picture is worth a thousand words!
