If there’s one thing about the first Saturday in December, it’s that the weather is sure to be unpredictable- but this past Saturday, it was unpredictably perfect- and the occasion was the 8th Annual Penny Stashick Ugly Sweater Walk.
That’s Cathy Anas, giving a rousing introduction to a Robert Simpson Park crowd that was already hyped for the big event.
Son Derek Stashick is the one who does the math.
The walk is inspired by the memory of the Stashick family’s late matriarch- who perhaps wore Arnprior’s original ugly sweater.
Even Arnprior Regional Health’s CEO Jeremy Stevenson joined the throng to express the Hospital’s gratitude as beneficiary.
Stevenson not only got into the spirit, he rose to the occasion.
And with that, along with other hospital board members and staff, and a large contingent of residents, began the trek up Robert Simpson Park Hill, and along John Street for the three kilometre 8th Annual Penny Stashick Memorial Ugly Sweater Walk- with proceeds this year to the ARHF Scope for Hope Campaign.
