Today: 4PM is the deadline to purchase tickets for the annual Seniors at Home Christmas Party, happening at the Parish Hall on Albert Street on Friday December 12th. Tickets are $30 for the Roast Turkey Dinner by Schmitt’s Catering, with entertainment by the Four of Hearts. Get your tickets at the Seniors at Home Office on McGonigal Street West.
The Arnprior Community Choir presents, “Sing Noel” this evening at 730PM at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church on Baskin Drive. Tickets are available at White Pine Books, 152 John Street North for $20 Adult, $10 for Children 12 and under. Cash only, and No Refunds.
Tomorrow: The 8th Annual Penny Stashick Ugly Sweater Walk takes place from Robert Simpson Park. Registration begins at 8AM, and the Walk gets underway at 930AM. Proceeds to Arnprior Regional Health’s Endoscopy Campaign.

Today: Coffee Time Drop-in happens from 10-1130AM at the Pakenham Branch of the Mississippi Mills Public Library.
The Mississippi Mills Friends of the Library are hosting their second Christmas Book Sale from Noon to 5PM at the Rexall Mall, 430 Ottawa St., in Almonte. Books of every genre are offered in good to near-new condition, sold individually or in sets. Many are wrapped and bowed and ready to give. Come, experience a holiday atmosphere with the Friends, and get some Christmas shopping done.
Light Up the Night happens from 7PM to 830PM on Mill Street in Almonte. Wayne Rostad returns as host. The Vendor Area featuring: Beavertails, Maple Taffy from Thompsontown Maple, Hot Chocolate from the Almonte Scouts, Vodkow Drinks from Dairy Distillery and a crackling fire to warm up to opens at 6:30PM. Tomorrow: Orchard View Gardens Christmas Village and Craft Market takes place from 9AM-3PM. The Market features handmade gifts, food, jewelry, wooden crafts, knitting and painting. Have fun with Santa from 1-3PM during the Christmas Village segment.

The Pakenham Santa Claus Parade takes place from 1-2PM along Highway 29. The parade loops around the village of Pakenham twice for double the fun! The Pakenham and District Civitan Club will be collecting food donations along the parade route for the Lanark County Food Bank – The Hunger Stop. After the parade they will be serving free hot chocolate and hot dogs in the Stewart Community Centre.
The Lanark Lit Writing Competition occurs from 2-4PM at 155 High Street in Almonte. It is a program celebrating works of original writing by local literary artists of all ages, presented by Almonte Readers & Writers. The event will feature readings of works of short creative non-fiction by the winners and finalists across two categories, organized by age of author— ages 17 and under, adults 18+ from Lanark County and the surrounding area. Public Skating happens from 6-8PM at the Stewart Community Centre in Pakenham.
A Piano for Christmas commences at 730PM at 14 Bridge Street in Almonte. Accompanied by the talented pianist and arranger Stéphane Aubin and eight musicians, the remarkable vocalist Marie Michèle Desrosiers revisits the most beautiful Christmas melodies, including excerpts from André Gagnon’s iconic album Noël. Meet Author Michael Dupuis from 1-330PM at the Carleton Place Public Library. He’ll delve into the history of the Halifax Explosion and focus on the reporters who covered the incident at that time. His book, “THE WOMAN REPORTER AND THE HALIFAX EXPLOSION” will also be available for purchase at $30 a copy.
