One by one, the menu choices in the Daniel Street Plaza in uptown Arnprior keep multiplying, and Saturday (November 15th) it was the turn of Firehouse Subs- with a little assistance of support vehicles from the Arnprior Fire Service.
Proprietor Raj Manchand was grateful for the accessory support, including the presence of the AFD ladder truck.
It may seem like an unusual arrangement, but in fact, as Raj says, it’s a business model.
Manchand says the concept began even before the first Firehouse Sub franchise opened its doors.
The Foundation concept is specific to each region Firehouse operates within.
Just as a fire crew on a call operates as a team to quickly accomplish its task, the service at Firehouse on opening day was super prompt.
What the first 100 customers received was a free hook-and-ladder sub, true, but the offer also came with two return-visit discount coupons.
Firehouse Subs is located at 245 Daniel Street South, and is open Sunday-Thursday 10AM to 10PM, and Friday and Saturday the franchise is open until 11PM.
As soon as Arnprior Fire Chief Rick Desarmia was out of ear-shot, I posed this question to Raj:
While there are historic pictures of the AFD lining the walls of the seventh Ottawa-area Firehouse Subs on Daniel Street, and a lot Arnprior Fire Service equipment was outside to herald its grand opening, I think proprietor Raj Manchand overstepped the mark when he promised me free delivery of my New York Steamer sub via the Arnprior ladder truck- but that’s ok, I have a long reach!
A smokin’ hot, “Welcome to Arnprior” to Firehouse Subs, in the Daniel Street Plaza!
