It’s her third year of operating the Humane Society Fundraiser in the kitchen of her grandparents’ business on Elgin Street West, and 11 year-old Rory Wilson is taking it all in stride.
Rory came up with the plan three years ago when she received two new cats from the Society after her favourite companion best friend cat had passed away.
The money Rory raises is put toward two dedicated causes for the sheltered felines.
Donors who visited- and this year it was somewhere between 30 and 40 people, have their choice of items in two Christmas-themed categories
Rory says as word spreads about her fundraising efforts, the totals continue to climb.
This year’s total- with potentially more still to come, is $1144.45.
There’s a lot of preparation that goes into Rory’s efforts- and it not just the day of the event, Saturday.
Rory thanks all the donors and customers; not just on behalf of herself, but also her feline friends at the Humane Society.
Rory Wilson, getting an early start in life with the giving spirit.
