Reports that the MTO is building an off-highway weigh scale at the interchange located at the west end of Arnprior are not correct, but the Ministry has supplied information on the initiative.
A statement advises, “The Ministry of Transportation is building a new maintenance patrol yard at Highway 417 and Ottawa Road 29. The facility will support highway operations by housing staff, equipment and materials used to maintain provincial highways.”
“This new yard will replace the Glasgow Public Works Yard and provide the additional capacity needed to support safety standards on the expanded Highway 417.”
