Sparky the Fire Dog has a new mission in life; he’s been assigned to tackle the dangers of lithium-ion batteries in your personal devices.
October 5th to the 11th is Fire Prevention Week- and there’s a danger sparks will fly if you try to charge up your devices improperly.
Always use the connector cord that came with your device for the best match when charging- the wrong move could lead to a fire.
Your phones, laptops, e-bikes, power tools —can all become fire hazards, if not charged safely.
If the cord only works when you bend it just right, it’s time to replace it.
Charge any lithium-ion battery device on a hard surface—never on your bed, couch, or under a pillow. And don’t overcharge. Once it’s at 100%, unplug and move on.
The Arnprior Life Facebook Page is brimming with tips for proper care during Fire Prevention Week.
