One Ottawa Valley youth is knocking on the door of world-level competition as she heads to Budapest, Hungary.
Renfrew’s Madalyn Buzzell will represent Canada at the upcoming WDF World Masters and Youth World Darts Championship Qualifiers starting on October 23rd, competing in what is a major milestone for her just two years after picking up a sport she wasn’t even sure she would stick with back in 2023.
Buzzell is fully committed to the sport now, dedicating multiple hours a day to honing her skills and preparing herself for as many possible in-game scenarios as possible ahead of a busy schedule that awaits her once her plane lands halfway across the world next month.
A good showing at the qualifiers would mean an extended stay in Budapest, as the World Masters tournament gets underway immediately afterwards. However, Madalyn is trying to keep her expectations for the event in check.
Fans can keep track of Madalyn’s progress through the tournament through the DartConnect and DCTV apps.
