You’ve heard the expression “Get the lead out”.
When it comes to drinking water, it’s a legal obligation under Ontario Regulation 170/03, which includes regular sampling and testing of water at various locations throughout the community; that’s because older homes used to be serviced with lead pipes- either through the municipal system, or your own private piping.
If you are concerned about the possibility of lead in your household plumbing, you have the right to request a free lead test from the Town of Arnprior.
Collecting a lead sample takes about 40 minutes. Our staff will schedule a convenient time to collect a water sample and provide you with the results in a timely manner.
