Arnprior Life fans are reveling in a new video as to the progress of renos at the Nick Smith Centre.
The slab-pour at the Glenn Arthur Arena was completed last Wednesday.
The whole thing was captured on time-lapse video and is being shared by Recreation staff.
The statistics to match indicate that 194 sheets of steel mesh, a total of 4,351 lengths of steel bars and anchors with a cumulative length of over 20km went into the concrete of Glenn Arthur Arena.
Then came the refrigeration piping under a top layer of overlapped steel mesh, followed by a non-stop 17-hour period of concrete pour.
Water will be maintained on the concrete for the next week to avoid cracking during the curing process.
As that happens, crews will continue work on the dasher boards, glass and spectator stands.
Once the concrete is sufficiently cured, the cool down procedure can commence, gradually bringing the temperature lower so that the first ice can be made.
Based on the current progress, staff anticipates opening dates of both arenas to be:
Glenn Arthur Arena: Thursday, September 25th; Bert Hall Arena: Saturday, October 25th.
