Just when your patience with prognosticators was wearing thin comes news that Environment Canada’s multi-day heat event could extend by another day, into Wednesday, for Eastern Ontario communities.
The Municipality of Mississippi Mills has four cooling centres available for those who need it.
These are: the John Levi Community Centre (182 Bridge Street, Almonte); the Almonte Branch of the Mississippi Mills Public Library (155 High Street, Almonte); the Stewart Community Centre (112 MacFarlane Street, Pakenham) and the Pakenham Branch of the Mississippi Mills Public Library (128 MacFarlane Street, Pakenham).
Also, the Gemmill Park splash pad (182 Bridge Street, Almonte) is open daily from approximately 8AM to 9PM.
