The Save the Grove Again Committee invites you to indulge in some “forest bathing” this weekend.
The group is hosting another of its “Grove Roves” beginning at 9AM on Saturday.
Come out to meet new friends, enjoy a beautiful amble through the old-growth forest and learn some pretty amazing facts along the way, because, as Save the Grove Again Committee Chairperson Lacey Smith tells us- the more you understand, the better you can explain things to your friends and neighbours.
For example, says Smith, although wood ducks inhabit Gillies Grove at the moment, what happens if you cut off the species from access to water?
Save the Grove Again Committee member Sandra Stephens is among those who’ve been leading the guided walks in the Grove.
The August Grove Rove, this Saturday will be conducted at a slower pace and only on the paths that are both wide and flat. It’s a great adventure for anyone with mobility issues.
Meet at the Ottawa Street entrance to Gillies Grove. There is no cost to take part and the walk will take between 60 and 90 minutes.
