Local police have provided some answers to why an Arnprior neighbourhood was put under lockdown over the weekend.
Officers with the Renfrew and Arnprior OPP were sent to Wolff Crescent at around 3:20 pm on Sunday, June 20th, after receiving reports of an assault.
Police would briefly urge residents to either stay indoors or avoid the area while their investigation was underway but later lifted that warning before clearing the scene just after 5:00 pm that evening.
As part of their investigation, a 20-year-old from Arnprior has since been charged with the following:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault causing bodily harm—choking, suffocating, or strangling
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Taking a motor vehicle without consent
- Assault
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
