The province is contributing $1 million toward the revitalization of the Nick Smith Centre in Arnprior as part of a broader $2-million investment across Renfrew–Nipissing–Pembroke through the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund.
The CSRIF is a provincewide initiative to revitalize local facilities, grow the economy and promote active, healthy living across Ontario.
MPP Billy Denault made the announcement recently at the Nick Smith Centre, which is currently undergoing a $7-million overhaul aimed at improving accessibility, infrastructure, and community space.
Director of Recreation Graeme Ivory gave ArnpriorToday.ca the latest update on construction.
“The Town of Arnprior is grateful for the province’s investment in recreation and well-being,” said Mayor Lisa McGee. “This project will ensure the Nick Smith Centre continues to support our growing municipality and serve as a key economic driver for the Ottawa Valley.”
